Grand Christmas Carnival at Meenakshi Group of Schools

Meenakshi Group of Schools, Sector 10 A, Gurgaon celebrated the grand Christmas carnival on 21st December 2014. The cold misty day witnessed fun filled activities, delightful cuisines and a fiesta of colourful stalls of crafts, antiques and clothes. A huge crowd thronged in the premises to enjoy the Sunday. The activities included several competitions like Drawing and Colouring, Paper Bag Decoration, Fancy Dress, Sunniest Smile for tiny toddlers and English essay writing.

The Sur Samrat competition and the Dance competition held at the main stage area of the schools attracted the majority of participants. Schools like Euro International, Lions Public School, Ryan International, DAV Public School and many others participated alongside the host schools. Several preparatory schools also joined in with their toddlers. Every corner of the school was brightened up by the smiles of the small ones and gaiety of the elders. Euro International School bagged several prizes in the categories of Fancy Dress, Drawing and Colouring, Paper Bag Decoration and Dance Competitions.

The participants from the host schools- Meenakshi Public School and Meenakshi World School– also made their schools proud by winning prizes in many competitions. The show stealer of the event was a live performance by the band “Sound of Spring”. The icing on the whole cake was the “Lucky Dip”. Alina won the grand prize, a bike. Ms. Shalini gupta won for herself an oil heater. Prince and Divya Pratap of Meenakshi World School won refrigerator and microwave oven respectively. The L.E.D. TV was won by Rajan. Several consolation prizes like dinner set, laptop, bicycle and washing machine were given away. The day ended with lots of cheers and smiles and people left with sweet memories and a hope to come back next year again to a bigger event.
